Marais Des Cygnes Performance Horses
Marais Des Cygnes Performance Horses is a small family ran facility, located less than a mile from the banks of the scenic Marais Des Cygnes River. We are dedicated to training and showing quality registered Buckskins and Quarter horses.
We believe that all horses should be treated with the same respect that we expect them to show to us. Our training techniques are low stress, based on principles that speak to the horse in a language it understands. Although many trainers methods vary all good trainers use the same principle and that is the principle that we consistently apply. Our horses are taught to be respectful on the ground before they are ever mounted. All horses whether in the show ring or on the trail should be taught to be soft in the mouth, give to the bit, and respond. A well trained horse should know how to bend and rate. We strive to maintain our horses natural movement through every gait, maintaining good collection or extension and correct distrubution of weight. Applying the same expectations to our show horses as to trail horses, accenting each horses unique strengths, and helping them minimize their weaknesses.
